Conflict and violence disproportionately impacts women and children. Yet many of these impacts go underreported. Violence Affecting Women and Girls (VAWG) is a strategic focus area for PIND and the P4P Network; both as a cross-cutting issue, and as a critical priority in its own right. We work to improve collection of VAWG specific data, and mainstream gender into our early warning and response system. Through increased data, we can help to break the culture of silence around VAWG including domestic violence and sexual abuse, and better target mitigation efforts. We produce periodic VAWG products for policy makers and practitioners, including trackers to analyse trends in VAWG reporting, and policy briefs on thematic VAWG issues.
Partners for Peace, or P4P, is a network supported by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) whose mission is to build social capital around peacebuilding through amplifying the voices of positive actors, building a network of self-identified agents of peace, and leveraging that network through facilitation, small grants, and capacity building.
