Partners for Peace, or P4P, is a network supported by the Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND) whose mission is to build social capital around peacebuilding through amplifying the voices of peace actors, building a network of self-identified agents of peace, and leveraging that network through facilitation, small grants, and capacity building.

This network includes thousands of stakeholders from civil society, community-based organizations, nongovernmental organizations, private companies, donor organizations, and the general public committed to promoting peaceable livelihoods in the Niger Delta.

VISION

P4P is dedicated to promoting peaceable livelihoods in the Niger Delta through voices, action, and network of self-identified agents of peace mandated to facilitate, coordinate, and shape our strategic direction.

MISSION

To build social capital around peacebuilding through amplifying the voices of peace actors, building a network of self-motivated peace actors through facilitation, small grants, and capacity building.

P4P NETWORK OBJECTIVES

To identify, establish and strengthen conflict resolution initiatives within the Niger Delta region.

To promote a more enabling, inclusive and peaceable environment conducive for economic growth and development.

To foster collaboration around the idea of peacebuilding across various stakeholder groups in the Niger Delta.

To enable people, businesses and civil society organizations (CSOs) to collectively advance their cause for livelihoods free from violence and conflicts.

To identify existing peacebuilding efforts and elicit local perspectives on peace and conflict in the Niger Delta.

P4P Approach To Peacebuilding

P4P reduces conflict as a key constraint to economic development in the region by supporting and building the capacity of local Peace Agents. The impact of the peaceful majority is enhanced with targeted Platforms, Data, and Skills. Interventions are locally-owned and driven to ensure that they address local realities, sustainability and effectiveness.

Structure

The P4P Network is governed by a Board of Trustees. The operations of the Network are managed by a Central Working Committee (CWC) tasked to monitor external communications at the national, state or local level to ensure compliance with the Network’s purposes, principles and rules and regulations.

Principles

We operate according to principles that reflect inclusiveness, ethnicity and diversity in the Niger Delta, as we strive to ensure equity, fairness and diplomacy in all interactions with stakeholders.

Communications & Coordination

P4P Regular information sharing and communication within the Network utilize various methods and seek to ensure that all members can access information. The Central Working Committee (CWC) serve as a hub to ensure free flow of information between and among the various levels.

Partnerships

The Network proactively identifies and reach out to prospective partners within and outside Nigeria that share the same objectives as the P4P Network, to establish strategic and constructive working relationships necessary to better equip and sustain its work.

Stakeholders and Beneficiaries

The P4P Network includes chapters, clubs, committees, and activities by and for key stakeholder groups for better collaboration, momentum, and more effective peacebuilding in the region. These include: Youth, Women, Faith Based Organizations and Institutions, Traditional Structures and Business Organizations, NGOs/CSOs/CBOs.
